The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel II is a 2014 role-playing video game developed by Nihon Falcom. The game is a part of the Trails series, itself a part of the larger The Legend of Heroes series, and serves as a direct sequel to The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel.

Selective Download

You can skip downloading of voiceovers files you don’t need. Here is the list of selective/optional files:

In example, if you want to launch the game with Japanese lossy voiceovers and w/o Japanese videos – skip all “selective/optional” files, but download fg-selective-audio-lossy-common.bin, fg-selective-audio-lossy-japanese.bin & all main files (01-05).

• Optional Japanese voiceovers from PS3 game version added (2.5 GB, thanks to tesla2105!) – note, that PC English version has ~5000 more strings voiceovered, so while playing with Japanese VO, you’ll hear silence in many phrases
• 100% Lossless & MD5 Perfect: all files are identical to originals after installation (when installed in lossless modes)
• Both English and Japanese VOs have an option of installing in lossy mode. I’ve converted WAV files to OPUS lossy audio format (128 Kbps for Stereo/64 Kbps for Mono) and restore them on user PC. If you need original quality, just skip lossy files alltogether
• NOTHING ripped, NOTHING re-encoded
• Selective Download feature: you can skip downloading and installing of English/Japanese lossless/lossy files and Japanese videos to save you a lot of bandwidth
• Significantly smaller archive size (compressed from cumulative 14.7 to 2.7~6.9 GB, depending on selected components)
• Installation takes 5-10 minutes (depending on your system and selected components)
• After-install integrity check so you could make sure that everything installed properly
